Ok, plastering tools. What do you need to make sure that when it comes to plastering tools you really do have it covered? Well, you'll be pleased to know that plastering tools are pretty cheap, you don't really need that much and that now you have found the NRP plastering page you will be able to get your plastering tools a damn site cheaper, which is always nice.

What tools do you need for plastering?

Ok, listed below is everything an interior plasterer would need to operate as such. This doesn't mean that you have to go splashing out on all the gear to carry out a crack repair in your kitchen. Use your common sense.

• A hawk
• A trowel
• A gauging trowel
• A float
• A corner trowel
• A drill/whisk
• A Scarifier (or Scratcher)
• Adequately sized buckets (min of 3)
• Extension lead
• Dust-sheets
• Set of screwdrivers
• Hammer and bolster
• Plasterers tin snips
• A tape measure
• A level
• A feather edge or darby
• A good pair of steps or hop up
• A selection of brushes

This isn't to say you will never need other tools for Plastering, you will, but that lot will get you started.

Are plastering tools expensive?

No, plastering tools do not have to be expensive. The most expensive tool a plasterer will require is a drill that will be necessary to whisk up plaster. No need to spend fortunes until you're earning fortunes so you should check out for plastering tools. You are always bound to save a pretty penny.

Whilst NRP recommend buying plastering tools at cheap prices, we do not recommend the use of cheap tools. Low quality tools will make plastering harder and the end result will be a poorer finish. You may compromise on some plastering tools but the one thing you must make sure that you get right is the trowel. NRP recommend Marshalltown for plastering trowels. A biased plug but in all the years of service they have helped me give, they deserve a mention. Again, you can buy these cheaply on .
